Two friends, Aisha and Mei Ling, having coffee at a café.
Aisha: Eh Mei, Christmas coming soon la. Got any plans?
Mei Ling: Not really… but I was thinking to do some DIY Christmas crafts this year. More personal, you know?
Aisha: Wah, good idea! I also wanted to do something with the kids. But I dunno what kind of craft to make.
Mei Ling: Aiyoh, got so many easy ideas! You can make Christmas tree ornaments with clay. Just roll out, cut shape, and paint. Simple, right?
Aisha: Eh, that sounds fun! I think Kaiyan will like that. Maybe can make some snowflakes too.
Mei Ling: Yes! And you can make those salt dough ornaments also. Just flour, salt, and water. Bake it, then paint. Old school but very cute la.
Aisha: Wah, easy and cheap somemore. I like! What about gifts? Can craft those or not?
Mei Ling: Of course! Last year I made scented candles in little jars. Just melt wax, add essential oils, and pour. Looks very fancy but actually very easy.
Aisha: Eh, I try that! Feels more meaningful than just buying from the mall. Can add ribbon and tag, jadi liao.
Mei Ling: Exactly! Oh, you can also sew small stockings and put sweets inside. If cannot sew, just glue lah!
Aisha: Hahaha, glue is my best friend! Oh, what about wreaths? Got any simple way to buat sendiri?
Mei Ling: Sure, just get some green paper, cut leaf shapes, and stick them to a ring base. Add some red pom-poms for berries. Done!
Aisha: I like how everything you suggest just “stick here, glue there” hahah! I confirm can do this with the kids.
Mei Ling: Ya la, Christmas craft must be fun and easy mah. No need stress!
Aisha: True, true. Ok lah, this year I try DIY everything. Make the house feel more festive.
Mei Ling: Ya, and you can even make it into a yearly tradition. Every year, new craft. Next time, your house full of handmade decorations.
Aisha: Wah, I can imagine already. Thanks for the ideas, Mei! We should do crafting together la.
Mei Ling: Can! We do Christmas craft party, everybody bring snacks and glue.
Aisha: Done deal!
