𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚: Go with the 50cm tube for this. It’s snug and keeps everything neatly in place!

𝐀𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐢: Perfect. For RM50, let’s add a sparkling juice bottle, chocolates, and roasted nuts.

𝐀𝐥𝐢: Sounds great! Use the 60cm shrink wrap for this one. How about RM80?

𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚: RM80 should be exciting! A bigger fruitcake, a coffee jar, festive cookies, and a mini teddy bear.

𝐀𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐢: That’s cute! The 70cm shrink wrap will fit nicely. What about RM100?

𝐀𝐥𝐢: Let’s go big—premium tea, a wine bottle, gourmet crackers, luxury chocolates, and a decorative candle.

𝐀𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐢: Done! These hampers will sell like hotcakes!

Lately, many people have been asking me how to start a small business, especially in crafts. Ok, let me share some basic tips on managing a small business, specifically for polymer clay products. If you mess up your finances, the whole business can fall apart!

Example: Selling Polymer Clay Keychains
When you start, you’ll need to buy materials: polymer clay, varnish, cutters, molds, and basic tools. You must set aside rolling capital – let’s say RM200. This money is only for business use, don’t touch it for other things.

Day One
Let’s say you make RM60 in sales. Usually, on the first day, customers are just getting to know your business.

Check your supplies: Maybe white clay is running out, and you need to top up RM15.
Keep the RM60 in the bank – don’t touch it!
Use the rolling capital: RM200 - RM15 = RM185.

Day Two
Sales start picking up – let’s say you make RM100. You need to restock clay and varnish for RM20.

RM100 - RM20 = RM80 profit for the day.
Keep RM80 in the bank, untouched!
Top up RM20 back into your rolling capital.

Day Three
When sales improve, orders increase too. You need to buy more supplies: perhaps new molds or extra clay for RM50.

Rolling capital: RM200 - RM50 = RM150.
But today’s sales hit RM150. Pay back the RM50 to your capital.
RM150 - RM50 = RM100 profit for the day. Keep this in the bank.
The Rule Is the Same: Whether your rolling capital is RM200 or RM2,000, the process is the same.

Always keep cash flow healthy. Bank in your sales daily.
